US Hispanics? US Latinos?
There is a socioeconomic difference between what is perceived as a Hispanic in the USA and a Latino in the USA.
Hispanic, Latino, Spanish Speaking population, no matter what the label if a label is needed in order to be compartmentalized and sorted in to a matrix; Hispanic Seems to fit the bill.
Hispanic, you can talk to Hispanics in English or Spanish, some prefer English only, some prefer Spanish only, and some prefer mixed Spanish and English.
Latinos prefer Spanish, Latinos understand English, Latinos Speak English, Latinos Read & Write English, Latinos adapt and can evolve in an English speaking world, but Spanish is at their core for communications.
The important thing to recognize is that SPANISH LANGUAGE is the common bond that keeps these groups together because Spanish is the language to communicate, to keep in touch with parents, grand parents, childhood friends, and families.
Many will assimilate the US language and culture, but Spanish is in their hearts and minds, in their Latin music, Latin recipes, Latin flavors.
Hispanic buying power is worth $1 trillion now and is expected to grow another 50 percent to $1.5 trillion in the next five years, according to a new Nielsen report. It also found that Latino households earning more than $50,000 are projected to grow at a faster rate than the total number of households.
